I just ran across a forum that talks about how to verbally abuse call center agents to make them do what you want.  My blood is boiling.  WHY.  One sentence literally read "and then you scream at them because their calls are recorded and they don't want the supervisors to hear screaming customers on their line."  REALLY?

I had a really good Christmas and I was at work for 5 1/2 hours of it and on a bus for another 3 hours...  And yet it's the best Christmas I've had in years.

Things not to say to a call center* employee...
"How can I help you?"
"Put your supervisor on the line."( Have fun listening to our hold music for 10 minutes. )

So I got in trouble at work today for "asking too many questions."

Here's a tip when calling someone about something:

If you are a pleasant person, the call center person on the other end of the line is more likely to stay on the phone with you for a long time to help resolve your problem.  If you start the conversation off as an asshole, we are likely to want to get off the phone with you as soon as possible, even ( Read more... )
